Vienna
St. Stephen's Cathedral, in the center of Vienna, and across from our hotel. When Rick says centrally located
hotels, he means it!

So much Vienna, so little time . . .
The guided group portion included a behind-the-scenes tour of the Vienna Opera House, the Imperial Apartments in the Hofburg Palace, and the Third Man Museum, an unexpected delight.

If you love art . . . Vienna has it. Museums? Vienna. Statues? Vienna. Fountains? Vienna. Gilded stuff? Definitely Vienna.
Guide Maisie provided tickets to the Imperial Treasury (spectacular!) and I spent a good chunk of time in the Austrian National Library (on my personal to-do list).
I could have spent the whole day wandering around just looking at fountains. There is so much elegance in the public spaces around the city.
Denim lederhosen -
perhaps for casual Friday?

The 3rd Man Museum, with its post-war history display, was a nice break from the over-the-top Habsburg-ness of Imperial Vienna.

The Austrian National Library is like an opulent church lined with books.
As always in Europe, don't forget to look up!
